Many consider the Chinesisches Haus (Chinese Teahouse), built in 1757, to be the pearl of the park. It is a wonderful circular pavilion of gilded columns, palm trees and figures of Chinese musicians and animals (one of the monkeys is said to have the features of Voltaire).

On the edge of the little Maschinenteich (Machine Pond), are the Romische Bader (Roman Baths), built in 1836 by a pupil of Schinkel and never used. The floor mosaics and caryatids inspired by the baths at Herculaneum are impressive.
