Dec. 18, 2001 - Visiting Elephanta Island
Our first excursion of the India trip was a trip to Elephanta Island (so named by the Portugese.) The island is the home to many Hindu temples and ruins thereof. We took a half-hour ferry across the ocean to reach the island, which was a refreshing break from the commosion of the big city.
